Arnica is the most important medicine to overcome the ill effects of injury, whether the injury is recent or many years old.
Mental symptoms: Arnica patients are often depressed, prefer to be alone, and don’t want to talk or be near anyone. They are irritable, frightened by small things, and have various fantasies, believing they have a serious illness, such as heart disease. At night, they have various frightening dreams, including those of thieves, robbers, graves, mud, and lightning. Sometimes, while sleeping, the heart pain is so severe that it feels like death, but this pain never occurs during the day; people injured in train or motor vehicle accidents often experience such sleep problems.
One of the surprising symptoms of Arnica Montana is that the patient’s entire body and limbs remain cold, but the head remains hot (the head is hotter than the body).
The entire body feels achy, as if the patient has fallen and been crushed, or severely beaten (pain, lameness and a bruised feeling throughout the body, as if beaten) and tenderness to the touch is the most important symptom. Based on this symptom alone, arnica can treat a variety of conditions. In cases of bruising or black marks on any part of the body, or dislocation or fracture of a bone or joint due to a fall or injury, arnica can quickly relieve swelling and pain. If a sprain occurs in the buttocks while lifting a heavy object or bringing something down from a high place (Rhus toxus), arnica can quickly relieve the pain. Arnica is also beneficial in cases of skull fractures, convulsions, epilepsy (black spots due to blood clotting), retinal inflammation (swelling of the eyes), meningitis (inflammation of the membranes of the head), eye bleeding, nosebleeds and tooth bleeding. It is also beneficial in case of heart beat disturbance (palpitations) after any type of injury.
Even in arthritis and gout, if such unbearable pain is present and the patient does not allow anyone to come near him for fear that touching the painful area will increase the pain, then it will be beneficial.
During pregnancy, a woman’s entire body becomes so sensitive that even the uterus and pelvic area become extremely vulnerable. Even the slightest fetal movement can cause excruciating pain for the mother, keeping her awake all night. This shouldn’t be taken to mean that fetal movements have increased dramatically, but rather that the woman’s sensitivity is heightened. A single dose of Arnica 200 potency immediately relieves this sensitivity. After delivery, a single dose of Arnica 200 provides relief from body and uterine pain. Arnica should be used especially after delivery, as it protects the patient from septic infections. It is a beneficial remedy for breast pain and swelling, especially when women experience breast pain due to injury. It is also beneficial for postpartum urinary retention ( OPI ).
Arnica has the remarkable ability to prevent pyaemia from spreading into the bloodstream. Therefore it is widely used after injuries and surgeries.
Due to its potent effect on the blood, it has been shown to be particularly beneficial in typhoid and typho-malaria fevers. The patient lies unconscious or mutters in a trance. If called and asked, the patient answers the question correctly and then immediately begins to talk unconsciously or falls asleep (giving the correct answer when spoken to, but immediately returning to a state of unconsciousness and delirium). This is a symptom suggestive of typhoid fever. The patient experiences excruciating pain throughout the body, the bed feels very hard (whatever they lie on feels hard), the head feels hotter than the body; there are involuntary bowel movements, excessive blood comes in with the stool and bed sores appear on the stool. The symptom of the patient correctly answering any question asked while unconscious is also present in Baptisia . The difference is that the Baptisia patient falls asleep or falls unconscious before completing the answer. Extremely foul smelling stool and urine is a characteristic of Baptisia, while involuntary bowel movements and black spots on the body are characteristic of Arnica.
Arnica patients dislike meat, broth and milk. It is also useful for indigestion. Patients may experience belching that smells like rotten eggs and belching with foul-smelling gas.
This is an excellent remedy for whooping cough. The child begins to cry even before the coughing fits, as if afraid of the pain of the cough. It seems as if the coughing fits will cause another severe chest injury.
Experiencing extreme pain when touching the injured area is also found in Baptisia, China, Phyto, Pyro, Rhus-tox and Staphysagria. Pain on the side where the patient lies is a symptom of Baptisia and Pyrogen; pain throughout the body and worsening with movement is a symptom of Phytolacca; Rhus-tox is especially beneficial when there is pain in the bones, pain when touched and pain that is relieved by movement.
Ruta is also a good remedy for bone pain caused by falling from any place. Rhus-tox is used for damage to the ligaments of joints as a result of injury; Hypericum for pinched nerves in the soft parts of the body, such as the fingertip; Calendula for torn and injured areas; Staphysagria for cuts caused by any sharp, thin-edged instrument; Ledum is more useful for puncture wounds.
In case of injury, I have always had excellent results with 1000 and 1 lakh potency arnica.
If a patient reports that they suffered an injury from falling from a tree, a horse, or a fall from a high place and it has been several years since the onset of the condition, regardless of the name of the condition, using Arnica in potencies 1000 to 10000 will provide remarkable benefits. Remember, we are treating the patient, not the disease.
Arnica is beneficial when very painful small boils appear one after another. Sulphur is useful when small boils appear in groups.
Fever – Frequent urination stops.
Feeling cold and thirsty; unbearable pain all over the body; the bed feeling very hard, so turning from side to side to find a softer place, but turning from side to side is painful.
Heat – Feels cold even with slightest movement or removal of the blanket; fever is unbearable.
Sweat – Sweat smells like sour mold.
Relationship – Complementary relationship with Akon, Hyper and Rhus-Tox.
Causes of worsening of the condition: standing still; lying down; drinking alcohol.
Improvement – By movement ( Rhus toxin, Ruta ).
Dosage: 3 to 30 potencies. Mother tincture for topical use, but do not use as a hot solution. For injuries, use 1000 and 100,000 potencies.
